Ojo de Dios

This year we are learning some Spanish.  To learn more about the places that use Spanish as their language Miss B found an interesting craft we could do.  It is a traditional Mexican craft called Ojo de Dios, which means God's Eye in English.  It is thought that the Huichol Indians of Mexico began making this craft and called them Sikuli meaning "the power to see and comprehend unknown things".

We started to make our God's Eyes last Friday using popsical sticks and pieces of coloured wool.  It was a fun craft to make because it involved weaving.  JA was able to finish his God's Eye independently and we were impressed that he was able to keep it looking so neat.

  1. Hi Miss B. I love our Ojo de Dios. They look cool! Miss B you are so good because when you said that our Ojo de Dios was God's eye some of the student's thought of God - like me, LG, KT and SF. (You are the BEST not the BEAST)!!!!
