Book Week & Storylines Festival

We are going to be celebrating Book Week at school in Week 4.  Here are some of the ideas that our teacher says we will be learning about:
  • Many book characters are famous all over the world.
  • Books can change the way we think.
  • Ideas for stories come from our imaginations.
  • Books have birthdays too! 
  • We have great authors and illustrators in New Zealand.

To conclude Book Week there will be the Storylines Festival which is a big celebration of New Zealand children's writers and illustrators.  Children from all over Auckland will enjoy this festival with their families.  Our teacher recommends that we all go this year to see if we can get some autographs of some Kiwi authors and illustrators.  Here are the details for the Free Family Day in Auckland:
