Red 'n' Black Day

Today we had a special RED & BLACK mufti day to raise money for the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.  Bright and early in the morning we were at the door of the classroom, money in hand, eager to give.  Our class members were all dressed in the Canterbury colours and were excited to donate, giving a grand total of $129.  Later in the day we were informed that our class was the class that had given the most!  We are very proud that our whole school was able to add $550 to the BNZ Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.

Here are some shots of the Canterbury colours seen at our school today:

Here is our class sitting in a heart shape to show that we care for the people of Canterbury who are suffering so much at this time.  It is appropriate that one of the Canterbury colours is red - the symbol of love!  WE LOVE CANTERBURY!  Don't you love SC's shirt?  (She's standing at the back.)  Her mother sewed the letters onto her top especially for the occasion!  We loved it and so did the other teachers and students.

Here are some students holding their pop-up cards that we made for Christchurch mayor, Bob Parker.  We wanted him to know that we have been thinking of him and the people of his city.  We put all the pop-up cards together into a book.

Red and Black Day
On Red and Black Day we got money for Christchurch.  When we wore red and black we looked beautiful and cool!  Red and black looks so cool!  People were happy.  I was happy too!

Red and Black Day
On Friday it was Red and Black Day.  We had to wear red and black clothes instead of green and blue.  We had a reason why we needed to wear red and black.  We were wearing red and black because they are the colours of the Christchurch flag and because many people died in the earthquake.  Our school gave $550 for the Christchurch damage.  Most of our school students gave more than $2 each.

Red and Black Day
Last Friday, on the 4th of March, Red and Black day happened.  It was fun and all the kids at Panmure District School were happy and liked it.  Why did Red and Black day happen?  Because we were celebrating Christchurch.  Room 14 gave $129.  All of the money raised by the school was $550.

Red and Black Day
We had Red and Black Day so that we could give money to Christchurch and to tell them we are sorry.  We had Red and Black Day on Friday the 4th of March.  Almost the whole school gave money but Room 14 gave the most.
