The Variety Bash 2011

Today we were extremely excited to have lots of visitors come to our school!  Just before morning tea we heard horns blaring as a lot of crazy vehicles assembled on our courts.  It was the Variety Bash arriving!

When we were allowed to go down to the courts we were given lots of free gifts from our visitors.  We got balloons, rings, bangles, lollipops, stickers, colouring-in competitions, packs of cards, flying whirli-toys and a chance to see some famous New Zealanders!

We were introduced to two of the All White players - Ivan Vicelich and Mully (David Mulligan).  Ivan Vicelich is New Zealand's most capped soccer player!  He's one of our defenders and played in all three of the All White's games at the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa.  Mully was also in the 23 man squad which went to the World Cup.

Miss B knew that TT would love to meet his soccer heroes so she took him to have a photo with them.  TT was so overwhelmed to meet the players that he couldn't speak, even when Mully asked him jokingly, "Did you see Ivan score that goal against Spain?"

Here is Ivan, Troy & Mully!

Look at our thank you pop-up book that we made for the Variety Bash!

Take a look at the first page of our book!  Don't you love AM's lovely letter and fantastic illustration?

Here is JT's pop up card

All of us did a fantastic job of making a page for the pop-up book.
We hope that the Variety Club members enjoy reading our letters.
