Happy Mother's Day

"A mother's love and tender care,
Makes happiness bloom everywhere."

It is Mother's Day on Sunday so we decided to write about why our mothers are so special.

Why my mum is special

What is a mum?  A mum is a female person.  My mum gave birth to me.  My mum has to do lots of work for me.  My mum is like an angel.  She is loving, kind, caring and pretty.  My mum is beautiful inside and outside.  When I come back from school she cooks me food.  My mum is the best in the world.
RD, Year 3

My mum is special because she comforts me when I’m sad.  She helps me when I’m stuck on my work.  My mum loves me when I’m good and even when I’m bad.  If I didn’t have a mum no one would look after me and I wouldn’t have a mum.  Mothers are very special people.  Inside of a mum’s body is a heart and it stands for love.  My mum is a pleasing mum because she does what I want.
JT, Year 5

My mum is so special to me because she gave birth to me.  Mums are special female parents and very intelligent.  My mum is a very special mum to me and the most wonderful mum in the whole wide world.  I like my mum because she helps me do my homework.  My mum is like a very beautiful angel.  My mum is a special mum to me because she lets me play on the Play Station 2 and also she cooks yummy food for me.  My mum buys me anything I want.  My mum is a very caring mum.
JA, Year 5

My mum is special because she makes me healthy meals and cooks nice breakfasts, lunches and dinners.  She cooks fast and makes yummy food.  She takes me wherever I want to go.  When I have a sore leg or a sore arm she cuddles me and takes me to the doctors.  I love you mum!
AD, Year 4

How much do you love your mum?  I love my mum more than the height of myself!  She takes me everywhere I want to go.  My mum loves me when I’m good or naughty.  If I didn’t have her, I wouldn’t be born but If I was born and she wasn’t there, I wouldn’t have food and I’d die.  Mum is an angel and so intelligent.  My mum does all the work in the house.  I just love my mum.
KL, Year 3

My mum is special to me because she is part of my family.  Inside my mum’s body there is a heart and it stands for love.  If I had no mum I wouldn’t be here right now.  Because I am here right now means that I was born.  Having a mum makes me feel lucky.  My mum loves me when I’m good.  Every time I feel unhappy she gives me a big, soft, cuddly hug that makes me warm with a humble heart.  That’s why my mum is special.
KT, Year 5

How much do you love your mum?  My mum is special because she does lots of things for me.  Mums are loving and responsible people because they let us have a life.  My mum is kind because she carried me around in her tummy for nine months.  She celebrates my birthday when it is my birthday.  if I didn’t have a mum who would look after me?  I would be alone.  She is the first, best, loving person I met.  She is an intelligent person.  My mum is the queen of the family, like Queen Elizabeth!  She is an angel.  I make her breakfast in bed because she has done lots of things for me.  She is the first person I met.  She is beautiful on the inside and pretty on the outside.  I love my mum!

  1. On Mother's Day I didn't make breakfast for my mum because I was to lazy to wake up. So then I went to my mum and said "Happy Mother's Day!" Then she asked me why I didn't make her breakfast and I said I was to lazy to wake up. Then she said that dad made her breakfast. I asked her "Why did you wake me up then?"
